Service Description

A carotid cavernous fistula (CCF) is an abnormal connection between either the internal carotid artery, arteries from the lining of the brain (dura) connecting to the cavernous sinus. This condition can be caused by underlying aneurysm, or someone who has had a traumatic injury, or for unknown reasons. People with this condition can have swollen (proptotic), red (chemotic), eyes or have double vision (caused by injury to the nerves of the eye muscles) or can rarely have brain hemorrhage.
